Welcome Note

Welcome!

"Open-source Education" was a term I was introduced to by Mr. Farzal Dojki. Following on his footsteps I have set up this blog. Here I will post lectures on various technologies that any person who understands English can follow and can become a "technologist". Through this channel we will move towards becoming a nation which shares knowledge and produces entrepreneurs who become the leaders of tomorrow! Some of the initial technologies we will discuss here include: C#.Net, ASP.Net, XNA, PHP, Machine Learning Algorithms, Windows Programming. All consist of levels from 100->400 depending on the pre-req knowledge required.

Any individual willing to contribute as a writer is warmly welcomed. Drop me a mail.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex,
and more violent. It takes a touch of genius, and a lot of courage, to move in the opposite direction.

Intro to C#.net (Level-100)

In this series of posts we will be looking at the .Net framework. Then we will discuss the evolution of .Net and the architecture. What is .Net? What is C#? What is ASP.net? And what is CLI? And at the end of this tutorial we will try to create a web-crawler which will simply go to different servers and get some information.
The intended audience for this tutorial is novice programmers who have basic computer knowledge.

The time is not definite when this series will end. But the contents covered will be:
  • Introduction to .Net
  • Introduction to C#.Net
  • Basics of C#.Net (Functional)
  • Basics of C#.Net (OO)
  • File I/O in C#
  • XML Handling in C#
  • Working around databases in C#
  • GUI in C#
  • Alternatives to Visual Studio, MONO Project & Notepad++
All the chapters will be supported with reference material and books. Some may not be posted here to avoid any legal complications. Some will be password protected for my students and password can be given through a personal email.

And yes not to forget Prof. Einstein:

"Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as
a valuable gift and not as a hard duty"
